About

At Grandpa's with
a stringer full
Born with a spinning rod in hand, Elliot has been infatuated with all things fishing since he was just a little troublemaker. Growing up in eastern Pennsylvania, Elliot’s father, grandfathers, and older cousins taught him to fish for trout, panfish, bass, and carp at a very young age. As a young teenager, Elliot began fly fishing for trout and panfish as well as canoeing lakes and ponds. With an excellent wild trout stream just walking distance from his grandparent's house, fishing became quite an obsession and Elliot even earned the nickname “Scales” from his friends.

During high school, Elliot turned his love of nature into an ecology-oriented education. With the guidance of teacher Lance Leonhardt, Elliot was part of a small group of students that expanded their high school education into the local outdoors. Macroinvertebrate studies, stream electro-shocking surveys, as well as physical and chemical stream analysis allowed Elliot to gain an even greater understanding of the local trout streams. He would later take this love of wildlife sciences to Elizabethtown College and earn a bachelors degree in Environmental Sciences & Biology with a focus on Resource Management and Herpetology.

Fishing the upper Chesapeake
After college, Elliot spent several years living on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Living in such close proximity to the water, Elliot spent a great deal of time on boats, jet skis, and kayaks. Learning to fish for rockfish (striped bass), catfish, and skates (cow-nosed rays) was a whole new experience compared to the wild trout streams of eastern Pennsylvania. Elliot also learned to hunt waterfowl and run trot lines for blue crabs, both of which are practically requirements for living on the DelMarVa peninsula!

Late in 2009, Elliot moved north to Connecticut looking for new experiences and new challenges. Although working 60+ hours each week wasn’t conducive to fishing, a change in careers would eventually give him a little more spare time. Over the next few years, as Elliot explored more of New England, the obsession with fishing returned from his childhood.
Tournament winning Bluefish
Now, as a member of the Three Belles Outfitters Fishing Team, Elliot spends an extraordinary amount of time on the water. A proud owner of two Hobie kayaks, Elliot takes advantage of any opportunity to launch his kayaks. Weather permitting, Elliot fishes year-round all throughout New England and the Long Island Sound. When kayaking isn't in the cards, you can also find Elliot wading several of the local trout streams or fly fishing in Western New York.
